Transport documents

Prepare all necessary documents, including:

 

  • Commercial invoice (please remember to include a flat rate in the invoice for the additional costs of processing the export)
  • Packing list
  • Proof of origin / certificates (e.g. FLEGT, CITES, depending on the type of wood)
  • Identification information (e.g. in accordance with EU and UK standards)
  • Phytosanitary certificate
  • EORI (Economic Operations Registration and Identification System) number: Make sure you have a valid EORI number to complete export and customs formalities. EORI is an EU-wide system for the unique registration and identification of companies and individuals vis-à-vis customs authorities. The individually assigned EORI number is valid worldwide.
  • Your trading partner from the UK also needs an EORI number. It is not always the case that smaller companies from the UK are aware of the need for this number or have applied for it. It is advisable to request the EORI number at the beginning of the business relationship.
