The negative effects of Brexit on the forestry and timber cluster in Baden-Württemberg are to be mitigated by a package of measures. Model projects in innovative, climate-friendly hybrid timber construction are being initiated and technology transfer in this area is being encouraged in the relevant networks of the regional and supraregional (BW-UK) value chain in the construction sector.
To achieve this, the BW-UK expert advisory service will be created. This advisory service will analyze the specific obstacles and transparently identify recommended solutions for all SMEs from BW to access the UK market. The results of the model projects will be published in English specifically for the UK timber construction sector and presented at a specialist conference.
Cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg International (bw-i) representative office in London, which will open at the end of 2021, is planned. The package of measures contributes to the reorganization of bilateral relations in line with the goals of the state government.
