At the headquarters of Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG, the new Headquarters Building Y stands as an architectural statement for sustainable construction and forward-thinking work environments.
The new office and administrative building provides around 375 workplaces, a visitor center, and a café, uniting innovation, aesthetics, and ecological responsibility.
With its distinctive high-rise silhouette, the building becomes a landmark at the Künzelsau-Gaisbach site, combining representative architecture with a strong commitment to sustainability.
Developed on a revitalized site, it integrates open spaces, water features, and landscaped zones into an inspiring environment for work, interaction, and relaxation.
The project combines timber and concrete in an advanced hybrid construction system.
Exposed timber trusses and timber–concrete composite slabs form a structural framework that is both functional and atmospheric.
Timber, as the key building material, ensures a healthy indoor climate, binds CO₂, and underscores Würth’s dedication to responsible resource use.
Concrete is employed only where its load-bearing strength and fire resistance provide clear advantages – resulting in a balance of material efficiency, durability, and architectural clarity.
This construction approach yields an innovative and circular building, whose components are designed to be largely demountable and reusable.
The structural timber protection of the high-rise is achieved through a double-skin glass façade.
The cavity between the outer shell and the load-bearing structure creates a protected buffer zone, shielding the timber from weathering.
In particularly exposed areas, such as terraces, encapsulated systems and highly durable timber species like Accoya are used.
This concept ensures the long-term preservation of the visible timber structure without chemical coatings and with minimal maintenance requirements.

The new administrative building strengthens the Würth company campus in Künzelsau-Gaisbach as the urban and architectural center of the site.
