The German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) generally supports German companies by providing initial information to help them determine whether the break-even point (cost recovery point or profit threshold) can be achieved. This could include, for example, regulations for timber imports or building standards in the United Kingdom.

The German-British Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) also advises German companies on issues relating to the construction withholding tax and how to deal with value added tax in the United Kingdom.
Construction withholding tax in the UK: The Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) was introduced in 1972. The CIS covers both active services (construction and assembly) and passive services, such as the provision of labour for construction work.
The CIS requires companies to deduct tax from the amount paid to a subcontractor`s tax deduction is credited to the subcontractor’s tax account. It is offset or refunded when British income tax or corporation tax is assessed.
