Built By Nature Annual Summit

This year’s annual Built by Nature Summit provided a platform to present the BW timber construction initiative as a pioneer in sustainable timber construction. Several hundred visitors from Europe and other regions attended the event in London to learn about the activities of the international Built by Nature network, which aims to establish a global sustainable building culture movement. During the presentation of the Holzbau-Offensive BW, reports were given on projects such as Timber Innovation BW, which is funded by the Holz Innovativ programme. The aim of the project is to transfer timber construction innovations and knowledge from Baden-Württemberg to the United Kingdom and to establish a network to offset the effects of Brexit.

The Timber Construction Offensive BW is an important part of Baden-Württemberg’s efforts to promote the use of timber in construction and thus strengthen climate protection and a sustainable building culture. Through its collaboration with Built by Nature, the Timber Construction Offensive BW is also integrated into international networks. In addition, the partnership between the Timber Construction Offensive BW and Built by Nature offers new opportunities for the exchange of ideas and technologies to further develop and promote sustainable construction with timber.
